The International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants, known as IIBEC and formerly called RCI, describes itself as an institute for professionals who work on roofing, waterproofing and building enclosures. Its website shares education, technical information and a directory of members. Owners of larger or more complex buildings in Nashville sometimes bring in an independent consultant for roof design, specifications and inspections.
We are an independent company and are not part of IIBEC. For complex or high-value commercial roofs, an independent consultant can write specifications and review work, and we are comfortable working to those documents. For typical homes, a clear written scope from a contractor is usually enough.
