Questions

Roofing questions, answered plainly.

About roofs, siding, gutters, storms, materials, permits, schedules and bids.

Getting started

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. The Free Estimate and the Free Roof Inspection come with no obligation. You see a written scope before any work begins or anything is ordered.

What areas do you serve?

Nashville and nearby communities across Middle Tennessee, including Franklin, Brentwood, Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, Smyrna and more. See the service areas page for the full list.

Do you work on homes and businesses?

Yes. We install and repair roofs, siding and gutters for homes, apartments, HOAs, churches and commercial buildings.

Can I hire you for a small repair?

Yes. Many calls are for a few shingles, a boot or a section of gutter.

Roofs and materials

What roofing materials do you install?

Asphalt and architectural shingles, impact-resistant and designer shingles, metal, slate, synthetic slate, cedar, tile and flat roof membranes.

How long will my roof last?

It depends on material, installation, ventilation and conditions. We explain realistic ranges for your roof.

Do you tear off the old roof?

Usually, so we can inspect and repair the decking. In some cases a recover may be possible, and we explain both.

Do you handle siding and gutters too?

Yes. Coordinating roofing, siding and gutters gives a cleaner result.

Repairs and storms

Can you find and fix a leak?

Yes. We trace leaks from the attic and the roof, explain the cause and repair it.

Do you respond after storms?

Yes. We inspect, tarp, repair and document damage after wind and hail.

Will you file my insurance claim?

No. You decide whether to file. We provide photos, measurements and written scopes, and your insurer decides coverage.

Permits and planning

Do I need a permit?

Often for re-roofing and structural work. Local officials decide, and we help you find out.

Can you help with HOA or historic approval?

Yes. We prepare samples, photos and descriptions that reviewers often ask for.

How do I choose a color?

We bring samples and compare them against your brick, siding and trim in daylight.

Cost and schedule

What drives the cost of a roof?

Size, pitch, material, access, decking condition, ventilation and scope. A written scope shows exactly what is included.

How do I compare bids?

Ask each contractor for the same details: roof size, materials, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, decking terms and cleanup. Our bid scorecard helps you compare.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Many homes take one to three days of roofing, with planning and permits before. Weather and materials can affect the schedule.
